Among the Nissri, the Leafguard are honoured protectors who patrol the deep forests with their animal companions. Yrisel is one of their finest: quiet, strong and chosen by Myrkan, a dusk-feathered bird of prey whose silent flight carries him above the treetops. He senses danger long before others notice the shift in air or shadow, guiding the Leafguard with a calm certainty that has saved Thalorien more than once. Though respected by many, Yrisel seeks no praise — only the steady rhythm of the forest he has sworn to watch over.
