Yrisel

Yrisel belongs to the Leafguard, the honoured protectors of Thalorien’s forest paths. While most Nissri keep close to bark and shadow, the Leafguard move with their companions through every layer of the woods — slipping across branches, racing through undergrowth, or riding swift forest creatures when speed is needed. They are not soldiers, but guardians shaped by instinct, balance and quiet bravery.

Yrisel is one of the youngest ever to rise to prominence among them. His lean, strong frame and the twin feathers he carries mark him as someone chosen by the forest’s creatures themselves. His bond is with Myrkan, a dusk-feathered bird of prey who trusts him enough to carry him through storm winds and moonlit patrols. Others in the Leafguard ride hares, tree-runners or mossback toads, but Yrisel has always been closest to the sky.

He is known for his calm focus and the way he senses danger before others notice the shift in air or sound. When something disturbs the borders of Thalorien — a strange scent, a tremor in the canopy, a quiet wrongness in the wind — Yrisel is often the first to move. Younger Leafguard follow his lead without question, drawn to the steadiness that seems to settle around him like a second skin.

Among the Nissri he is respected not for loud heroics, but for the way he watches over the forest with unwavering attention. A quiet protector, quick as a shadow, and trusted by creatures that few others ever touch. Yrisel may not seek admiration, but the Leafguard know him as one of their finest — a guardian whose steps, wings and instincts all carry the same purpose: keeping Thalorien safe.
