Among the Nissri, Ebony is known as a collector of forgotten and curious things. Shiny beetle shells, lost buttons, bird bones, broken keys — anything abandoned by the world eventually seems to find its way into her hidden nests beneath the roots of old trees.
Unlike many of her quieter kin, Ebony is endlessly curious about travelers and often follows them unseen through the forests of Vhalandar, mimicking sounds and stealing small trinkets when their backs are turned. Though mischievous, she is rarely cruel. Many who lose something in the woods later discover a different object left behind in its place, as though a trade had been made according to rules only Ebony understands.
