ssin’riss

Where Nyliss’rae was forged in silence, her sister Ssin’riss was raised in the honeyed poison of noble courts. Born the first daughter of her house in Shamath, her cradle was a battlefield of whispers. Tutors taught her the art of illusion before she could wield a dagger, and by adolescence she could sway a council with a smile while hiding venom in every word.
Her first true intrigue came when two rival houses vied for her hand in a political marriage. Rather than choose, she arranged for their heirs to meet in “secret” — both unaware that the wine had been laced. Their deaths unraveled two houses at once, and the whispers of Ssin’riss’s cunning began to spread.
But courtly games grew suffocating. She longed for freedom from the endless webs of her kin, and so she slipped into the wider world. In the Underdark she bartered secrets; in the surface cities she cloaked herself in glamour. Kings and merchants alike found themselves her pawns, their fortunes twisted by her unseen hand. She never carried a blade of steel, but few weapons were sharper than her tongue.
Still, blood ties remained. When a surface guildmaster threatened Nyliss’rae’s life, Ssin’riss intervened, spinning false contracts until his own allies turned and gutted him. When Vel’ythra’s matron was besieged, it was Ssin’riss who sent gold to the besiegers’ rivals, collapsing their siege from within. She may have walked far from her sisters, but her shadows still stretched toward them..
