Forest Mimkin

The Mimkin are elusive beings, known for their gift of disguise. Flowers that seem too bright, fungi that quiver without wind, or a stone that shifts when no one watches—such sights are often signs of their presence. Their forms are diverse, yet all share the same instinct: to blur the line between creature and forest.

They are not bold or boisterous, but neither entirely passive. As they move, Mimkin scatter seeds and spores, tend to hidden corners of the wild, and weave a quiet mischief into the land. A traveler may leave their groves with nothing more than a pricked finger from a thorn or the memory of laughter hidden in moss.

Mimkin are seldom seen, and even when they are, few realize what they’ve witnessed until the moment has already slipped away. But their existence is a reminder that in the Thalorien Forest, even the stillness of root and stone may be alive with watchful eyes.

Shrumlings

Hidden in the damp groves at the edge of Thalorien and on the border with Dreomer, the Shrumlings reside, blending seamlessly with the mushrooms they mimic. By day they huddle motionless among the clusters, appearing as nothing more than part of the forest floor. By night they awaken — quiet voices drifting like mist, their strange gatherings marked by song, dance, and the glimmer of spore-light.

Shrumlets

Tiny figures with mushroom caps too large for their heads, the Shrumlets seem almost born of a tale whispered by firelight. Found in the borderlands of Dreomere, they are fragile and peculiar, yet their story is one of survival, chance encounters, and the kindness of those who refused to let them fade.
